One of Malaysia’s longest-running amateur golf tournaments is back as the Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC) 2026 returns for its 33rd edition, bringing together golfers from across the country for another season of competition, camaraderie and community.

Running from July to October 2026, this year’s tournament features 30 qualifying rounds at golf clubs nationwide, offering amateur golfers the opportunity to compete for a place in the National Finals. With more than RM2.7 million worth of prizes throughout the tournament season, CGC continues to strengthen its place as one of Malaysia’s most anticipated golfing events.

Since its introduction more than three decades ago, the Carlsberg Golf Classic has grown into more than just a tournament.

This year’s tournament officially teed off on 4 July at Sungai Petani Golf Club, marking the beginning of another nationwide series that continues to promote sportsmanship and community engagement.

Thirty Qualifying Rounds Across Malaysia

The 2026 edition will be played across 30 golf clubs throughout the country, making the tournament accessible to golfers from multiple regions.

The qualifying schedule includes 16 clubs in Central Malaysia, three in the Northern region, seven in the Southern region, and four clubs across East Malaysia. This broad reach allows more golfers to participate while reflecting the growing popularity of the sport nationwide.

Nett and Gross winners from each qualifying round will earn a place in the Carlsberg Golf Classic National Finals, where they will compete against top performers from across the country.

RM2.7 Million in Tournament Rewards

This year’s tournament offers one of its biggest prize pools to date, with over RM2.7 million worth of prizes available across the qualifying rounds and National Finals.

Among the standout rewards are two BMW 320i vehicles, each valued at RM293,471, sponsored by Auto Bavaria as Hole-in-One prizes during the National Finals.

Participants can also look forward to prizes contributed by adidas, TaylorMade and Garmin, while Vespa will offer additional Hole-in-One rewards throughout the tournament season. Le Botanical joins the event by providing sun care products to support golfers during play.

The diverse prize lineup adds another layer of excitement for participants while recognising outstanding performances on the course.
