Travellers across Asia will have more options for their year-end journeys as Scoot expands its regional network with a new destination in China and additional services to several popular cities.
The low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines will begin three weekly flights to Guiyang from 26 October 2026. The service will use Airbus A320neo aircraft, adding another southwest China destination to Scoot’s growing network.
For Malaysian travellers, the route provides another option to reach Guiyang via Singapore Changi Airport. One-way Economy Class fares start from MYR399, inclusive of taxes.
Located in Guizhou province, Guiyang is known for its green landscapes, mountainous surroundings and diverse ethnic minority cultures. Its relatively pleasant climate also makes the city an option for travellers looking to explore a different side of China.
Among its attractions is Qingyan Ancient Town, a well-preserved historical town near Guiyang. Travellers can also venture southwest to Huangguoshu Waterfall, one of Asia’s largest waterfalls.
The new service expands Scoot’s mainland China operations to 81 weekly flights across 16 cities. With Guiyang included, its overall network will reach 86 destinations across 18 countries and territories.
Scoot is also increasing capacity across several Asia-Pacific destinations as it prepares for higher travel demand during the year-end holiday period.
From October, Hat Yai services will increase from 12 to 14 weekly flights, while Phuket will rise from 17 to 21. Okinawa will also increase from four to five weekly services.
Further changes will follow later in the season. Clark will increase from seven to 10 weekly flights from December 2026, while Tiruchirappalli will rise from 12 to 14.
From January 2027, Kota Kinabalu services will increase from 10 to 13 flights per week. Daily Phu Quoc services will also gradually move from the Embraer E190-E2 to larger Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The capacity increases form part of Scoot’s Northern Winter 2026/2027 schedule, which runs from 25 October 2026 until 27 March 2027.
Scoot CEO Leslie Thng said the new Guiyang route strengthens the airline’s presence in China while giving passengers more choice and connectivity. The additional frequencies are also intended to meet anticipated year-end travel demand.
For travellers, the expansion means more options across Southeast Asia and other regional destinations. It also reflects the continuing role of air connectivity in supporting tourism and travel between Asian markets.
Flight schedules remain subject to government and regulatory approvals or changes.
