People often design their homes to be comfortable and useful. But sometimes they seem a little too serious. The newest product from IKEA home decor Malaysia encourages people to make their everyday living spaces more fun and creative.

On 11 February 2026, IKEA Malaysia released GREJSIMOJS. This new set of 33 pieces of furniture and accessories is fun and combines creativity with useful design. The line shows that IKEA thinks adults should be able to play too. Instead, it can become a normal part of life for everyone who lives there.

A Fun and Creative Set

IKEA GREJSIMOJS collection

The name GREJSIMOJS, which means “thingamajig,” shows how much fun the collection is. It encourages people to see everyday things in a new and surprising way, and it also celebrates creativity and curiosity.

The IKEA Play Report said, playing together can lower stress, boost creativity, and help families get closer at home.

Malcolm Pruys, the Country Retail Director of IKEA Malaysia, says that the goal is to make play seem like a normal part of life instead of something that needs to be planned.

IKEA wants to help Malaysians make their homes unique and welcoming by selling fun designs at low prices.

Furniture For Everyday Use That Is Fun

One of the most interesting things about the GREJSIMOJS collection is how it turns everyday furniture into fun designs.

Some things give new life to old IKEA favourites:

  • The famous MAMMUT chair, which first sold 30 years ago, now comes with colourful furry covers in bright pink and blue.
  • Storage boxes look like friendly cats
  • Speakers resemble playful mice.
  • A storage pouffe has a hidden “monster” design inside.
  • Designers reshaped a traditional rocking horse into a sculptural bird.

The designs are fun, but they still work. Each piece is made to fit in with everyday life at home, not just to look nice.

Made for Everyone

IKEA GREJSIMOJS collection

The GREJSIMOJS line welcomes both children and adults.

Anna Granath, Range Identity Leader at IKEA, says that designers explored the joy of play while creating the collection.. Many people got ideas from things they remembered from their childhood, especially things they were told not to touch.

The outcome is a range that makes people want to learn more and get involved. A rug can be a fun place for kids to play, and a lamp can look like a giraffe casting soft light.

These things make homes feel both cozy and creative.

Based On The Idea Of Play

The idea behind the collection is also based on the IKEA Play Report, which found that many parents want to play with their kids more but often can’t because they don’t have enough time, space, or ideas.

To solve this, IKEA came up with five natural ways to play:

  1. Look around
  2. Make
  3. Think
  4. Move
  5. Compete

Each piece in the GREJSIMOJS collection is made to naturally encourage these behaviours in the home.
