NakNak business growth is gaining momentum following the brand’s recent halal certification.

As local fast food chains continue to grow and adapt to changing customer tastes, the fast food scene in Malaysia are started to change. NakNak, a quick-serve fast food restaurant franchise from the well known area for its Korean-inspired comfort food, is one of the names that stands out recently.

Getting a halal certificate is a big deal for NakNak. The certificate recognition  gives Malaysian customers more trust, confidence and helps the brand reach more people as it moves into its next phase of growth.

Naknak Halal Certification Is Building Trust From Customer

In October 2025, NakNak’s central kitchen got halal certification after a thorough review of its ingredient sourcing, cooking methods, and daily operations.

Halal-certified suppliers now offer important menu items like sauces, spices, and patties. This helps make sure that all NakNak locations prepare food in the same way.

When deciding where to eat, many Malaysians think about whether or not the food is halal. Getting certified means that NakNak can now serve more customers and gain the trust of the ones it already has.

The company also wants to get halal certification for all of its stores over time as the brand grows.

More Locations Are Opening Up As The Business Grows

In addition to the halal milestone, NakNak’s growth can also be seen in the opening of two new stores.

The most recent places are:

  • Petronas NKVE (going to Damansara)
  • 1 Utama Shopping Center

We picked these stores because they are in busy urban areas where people on their way to work, shoppers, and families often look for quick and easy places to eat.

Customers can easily stop by for a quick meal without losing flavor because the restaurant is close to highways and big shopping centers.

A Customer Promotion to Celebrate

To mark the halal certification milestone, NakNak ran a limited-time promotion at its stores where customers could get free loaded fries.

Customers who spend RM35 on one receipt can get a free serving of loaded fries. Every day, there are different toppings to choose from, such as:

  • Cheese Fries with a Lot of Stuff
  • Fries with Bulgogi Beef
  • Fries with chicken

The campaign also asks customers to follow NakNak’s Instagram account @naknakmy, which helps the brand connect with its growing online community.

NakNak was started in 2022 and has grown quickly since then. The brand now has 13 stores in the Klang Valley.

  • Fried chicken in the Korean style that is crispy
  • Burgers made with high-quality beef
  • Fries with a lot of stuff on them• Cookies that are still warm from the oven

NakNak’s food is meant to be shared, which is in line with Malaysia’s culture of eating together.

NakNak is slowly making a name for itself in Malaysia’s fast food market by getting halal certification and opening new stores. The brand’s progress shows how local restaurant concepts can expand quickly while still responding to what customers want.
