The Vietnam telemedicine services are witnessing a strong growth, with the country rapidly shifting its focus towards digital health transformation. The recent government initiatives towards enhancing the country’s remote healthcare services are allowing millions of Vietnamese citizens to enjoy quality healthcare services in a more convenient manner.
The Vietnam telemedicine market size was valued at USD 245 million in 2023, according to TechSci Research. This indicating tremendous growth in the country’s telemedicine services. This growth is attributed to various factors, including smartphone uptake and government support for healthcare digitization.
Government Support Drives Adoption
The National Digital Transformation Program 2025-2030 has outlined ambitious plans for Vietnam’s digital health infrastructure. As part of the plan, telemedicine services will be set up in 100% of healthcare services, including those in remote areas (PubMed Central).
Improving Access in Rural Areas
One of the most important advantages of telemedicine in Vietnam is the possibility of improving the issue of equality in healthcare. Vietnam has a rural population of 66%, with 68% of them using smartphones (Frontiers), which is a perfect setting for implementing telemedicine.
